DFI Day 4 - Dealing With Data

 Another awesome day in Paparore today with our DFI cohort.

First up we had Dorothy who was talking about the Share part of this journey. 

Kariene was next and she went through Google forms. We had to create our own Google forms and use different options for the answers. I thoroughly enjoyed this and now feel that I could happily create forms for our tamariki, whanau or staff.

Kerry went over Hapara hot tips, then Vicki was up with Google My Maps. We got the option of which map we would like to create. This is another awesome tool that we had alot of fun with. I have embedded my map of dream destinations from our Cohort and it shows the area they are from.

Kerry was up again and we went over Google Sheets, alot was unpacked in this small session.  Vicki then went over Sheets on Speed.We broke into 3 groups after this depending on our level of confidence. We branched off with Kariene. It was great to have this opportunity to go at a slower speed and enjoy the process.

In the afternoon we had Kerry walk and talk us through blogging. We had to analyse a student, transfer the data into a spreadsheet and make a chart. I enjoyed this as we got to transfer the knowledge immediately from our learning while it was fresh. I have embedded my chart. 

The final part of our day was focusing on positive, thoughtful, and helpful quality blog comments. It has been an amazing day and I now feel that I am really getting into the swing of this.

 

DFI Day 3 - Media

Today our classroom was our homes which was quite a luxury I thought. Online learning through Google Meet was how we did it. We went through alot of stuff that will help us back in our classrooms.

DFI Day 2 - Workflow

Today we went to Paparore School for our DFI learning. We explored our Calendars, looked into Gmail, learned how to tame our tabs. We also used the Google Keep tool and had to use Google Meet. Below is the video of how we had to share a piece of learning with a colleague through Google Meet. Today was another full on day and definitely can't wait to see what next week has in store for us.

DFI Day 1 - Core Business

Today was a great start to the DFI course at Ohaewai Primary School. I found out that we're all at different levels of learning but have the common goal of wanting to upskill.  There's lots of little tricks that are really helpful to teach the kids. Donna Yates has been our Manaiakalani leader in our school and she has done a fantastic job at teaching alot of these things to our children, therefore I have been lucky to pick up a few things along the way. I'm really looking forward to see what else is on offer for us and being able to bring it back to the classroom. We had to create something today and insert an image using "remove bg" it was definitely a bit of fun. This is my attempt, enjoy.
